The Bloomsbury Bioseed Fund

This £4 million Fund is open to all inventive scientists related to UCL, CRC, ICR, ICRF, The Royal Veterinary College and The School of Pharmacy. We invest in any project related to life science. This could be in drug discovery, medical devices, diagnostics, research tools and more.



Our direct involvement in the creation of the start-up and business operations is greatly enhanced by the network and the quality of the individuals that sit on our Board. Specifically, we help future founders strengthen their ideas, prepare a business plan, and, if a project is attractive, we can provide immediate finance, up to £10,000, to obtain external support (e.g., an independent consultant).



In total we can invest up to £250,000 in a given opportunity. A key investment criteria is that a significant milestone should be reached once the seed investment is spent, so that follow-on finance is easy to obtain.
