University of the West of England Faculty of Applied Sciences

The University of the West of England, Bristol has some 24,000 students with 11 Faculties. The Faculty of Applied Sciences has five university recognised research centres:· Centre for Research in Analytical, Materials & Sensor Science. (CRAMSS)

· Centre for Research in Environmental Systems, Pollution and Remediation (CRESPAR)

· Centre for Research in Biomedicine. (CRIB)

· Centre for Research in Plant Sciences. (CRIPS)

· Centre for Appearance & Disfigurement Research. (CADAR)



The Faculty Research Office has a facilitating role within the Faculty of Applied Sciences in providing an interface between academic researchers and industry. The Faculty sees applied industrially related research as a primary focus and currently has numerous research programmes directly funded by industry, government departments and agencies, Teaching Company Scheme and by the European Union.
