AdProTech is a new biotechnology company dedicated to turning proteins into better drugs and better drug discovery tools. AdProTech recently opened its new laboratories in Royston near Cambridge, UK and is currently in a rapid growth phase. The company’s focus is on innovative protein engineering and its current research programme is targeted towards the identification and development of novel protein therapeutics for the treatment of cardiovascular, inflammatory and autoimmune disorders.AdProTech has adopted a radical strategy which differentiates it significantly from other protein engineering based companies, in that post translational modification (PTM) of proteins is taken to be vital in the development of a working protein therapeutic agent. By attempting to mimic nature where PTM often dictates protein activity, AdProTech has successfully developed several proprietary technologies, which produce highly effective protein therapeutic agents. The most advanced of these is PRODAPTIN™ M which permits the engineering of a membrane "address" into a protein therapeutic agent to target it to the site where it is most effective.
