AMC Cancer Research Foundation at the University of Colorado Cancer Center (UCCC), where we pursue new and better ways to prevent and treat cancer. As the only cancer center in the Rocky Mountain region to receive designation as a comprehensive cancer center by the National Cancer Institute, UCCC has some of the nation's most respected researchers and physicians working together to end suffering from cancer. As recently as 10 years ago, this may have seemed like an impossible dream, but as a result of newer drugs and treatments, researchers predict that cancer is becoming a chronic, manageable condition. Plus, through better screening and prevention techniques, cancer is being diagnosed earlier, when it is most curable. For the first time ever, there are more than 10 million cancer survivors in America!
With hope so close to being a reality, UCCC and AMC Cancer Research Foundation have made an unprecedented step of becoming formally affiliated. AMC and UCCC researchers are now working hand-in-hand to maximize the research effort to prevent and control cancer. The AMC Cancer Research Foundation is pulling out all the stops to regain its national presence as a supporting research foundation. To become one of the PREMIER comprehensive cancer research institutions in the United States, the UCCC, through the AMC Foundation, must excel in raising community philanthropic support.
