Cesme region was discovered in 3000 B.C by the colonists under control of Eryhtros. Now, the site that was named Erythrai is situated 27 km away from Cesme in a cove. In its first ages the site was being led by kingdom. Cesme as it is mentioned Cysus, was one of the safest and protected harbour of Erythrai at that time.
