Biodiversity Conservation (India) Limited (BCIL) is a collective of professionals striving to promote values of conservation. The main thrust of our activities has to do with the sensitive use and reuse of Earth's resources. We are a group of architects and environmentalists, geologists and geophysicists, energy and water technologists who realise that for such work as we do, our greatest resource is the involvement of people, be it rural communities or urban aesthetes. This involvement of local groups and individuals is critical to the success of all our projects. We realise that though people are getting increasingly eco-sensitive, they still flounder when it comes to applying principles of conservation to their daily lives. We attempt to fill just this unique niche. For us at BCIL, it is not enough to create awareness of environmental issues. We dare to go a step further. We provide you with opportunities to participate and gain lasting values.
Our expertise and experience in the realm of conservation is backed by relevant technologies, be it the creation of simple energy saving or generation devices, rainwater harnessing systems, waste water treatment technologies, and an array of management skills for soil, water and energy. Our long years of learning has helped us to employ energy-efficient building materials with traditional architecture that recognises contemporary engineering. This enables us to create and deliver working modules through which you can translate your environmental concerns into pertinent action. At home and in the workplace.
Our first initiative was to set up a self-sustained residential enclave to the south of Bangalore. In a campus called Trans Indus, we have 35-plus homes. We have just a few more on offer. Who knows, may be you could be one of them? Trans Indus will eventually consist of about 45 single-family-homes spread over a 42-acre campus. The power and water needs are sustainably managed. The state-of-the-art communication network and the fine set of leisure facilities make for an environment that enhances your quality of life. All our work so far has been designed to make the place a model of appropriate technology employed in practical application in an urban environment.
