Biokine Therapeutics Ltd. is a biotechnology company with state of the art expertise in chemokine research. The company was established in 2000 by scientists from the Weizmann Institute. The Company and its scientific team have established themselves at the cutting edge of research into chemokines and the development of drugs that target them. The Company’s products and technology have been validated by its selection as part of “Innochem”, a European drug discovery consortium (funded by the EU). The other members of Innochem are major pharmaceutical companies (Serono and Novartis) as well as major European research centers (e.g INSERM, Ludwig-Maximillian University). Biokine’s role in this consortium is to provide anti-chemokine drug candidates for future development. In addition, the Company is actively involved with other collaborations including the Weizmann Institute and Hadassah Hospital in Israel as well as the highly acclaimed Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kyoto University, Japan and the National Eye Institute of the US National Institute of Health (NIH), USA.
