Sense AB develops and markets research instruments based on the patented QCM-D (Quartz Crystal Microbalance with Dissipation Monitoring) technique. Since 1999 Q-Sense is the leading supplier of quartz crystal resonantor based instruments for molecular binding events taking place on various surfaces. Q-Sense instruments are found in 20+ countries all over the world. The QCM-D technique gives new opportunities to characterise thin films (nm) consisting of for example biomolecules. QCM-D is a further developed QCM and makes everything that QCM, RAP and other quartz crystal resonantor techniques do, but better. Examples of applications are biomaterials used as implants, functionalised surfaces to mimic cells or drug-target interactions.
