Biologics Process Development, Inc.

BPD was formed during the summer of 1996 by Scott M. Brown, Ph.D. Dr. Brown received his Ph.D. from UCLA in 1977 and after postdoctoral studies in molecular biology at the University of Colorado, Boulder began his career in the biotechnology industry. Dr. Brown has been responsible for a variety of cloning and expression projects with three different biotechnology companies. Most recently Dr. Brown was a Group Leader in process development at Corvas International, Inc.
Dr. Brown has over twenty years experience in microbial cell culture (bacteria and yeast). The extent of his experience in microbial cell culture ranges from the initial cloning and isolation of high protein expressors, to laboratory scale production of intermediate quantities of protein (up to 1 gram of protein in 2.5 to 20 L fermentors), to large scale expression of "industrial" amounts of protein (up to 200 grams of protein in 1600 L fermentors).
