Biovation is a leading European protein engineering company specialising in antibody and protein engineering, with particular emphasis on antibody-based therapeutics. The Company is focused on the generation of antibodies and proteins which are non-immunogenic in man. The focus for protein therapeutics is the generation of clinically safe and effective molecules which are tolerated by the human immune system. Biovation's DeImmunisationTM technology has been successfully applied to generate over a dozen therapeutic antibodies ("DeImmunised antibodies") and has been the subject of eight corporate relationships to date. Biovation has also developed BiodisplayTM technology for the isolation of new antibodies from human antibody libraries. These antibodies are then subjected to DeImmunisation in order to generate therapeutic antibodies. The same human antibody libraries are being applied for proteomics in order to rapidly interrogate and profile proteins in human cells and tissues.
