Bi-Valley Medical Clinic, Inc

Bi-Valley Medical Clinic, Inc. began to treat opiate addiction in July of 1980 when it took over a 150 patient methadone maintenance program from the University of California Davis, Medical Center. Bi-Valley now treats patients in our two outpatient treatment program facilities.

Since 1980, Bi-Valley has developed a comprehensive array of addiction treatment services in addition to our methadone maintenance treatment program and 21-day medically supervised withdrawal programs. Bi-Valley’s other programs include a Buprenorphine program, Prop 36 program (Substance Abuse and Crime Prevention Act 2000), Pregnancy (perinatal) program, Psychiatric Clinic, and a Southeast Asian program. In addition to the Southeast Asian program, Bi-Valley employs counselors who speak Spanish and Russian.

Bi-Valley has been very active in providing education and consultation to community agencies and local and State government regarding opiate addiction and methadone treatment, as well as harm reduction approaches to drug policy. Bi-Valley recognizes that our patient population is one of the most stigmatized of any patient group. Bi-Valley strives to help our patients overcome adverse affects caused by such stereotypes and biases. We work to improve the future of our clientele by influencing public policy. On the national level, Bi-Valley is an active participant in the Clinical Trials Network (CTN), which is sponsored by the National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA). Bi-Valley’s participation will help guide the future of how opiate addiction is treated in our communities.
