Blood and related products and services constitute an essential part of the healthcare delivery system. Patients need transfusions to replace blood and blood component losses resulting from surgery, injury and other bleeding disorders. Additionally, patients suffering from a variety of autoimmune diseases benefit from therapeutic procedures involving the removal or exchange of various components of their blood through therapeutic apheresis (TA) and stem cell collection procedures.

The Company's outsourcing programs include management of hospital-based blood collection centers, management of hospital blood banks and blood inventories and, in California, collection and broad-based distribution of blood platelets. The Company also provides TA services to patients in outsourced hospital clinical departments and on a mobile just-in-time basis.



HemaCare/Coral Blood Services markets these programs under the brand name of HemaCare in the Western US and under the name of Coral Blood Services in the Eastern US, focusing on providing hospitals and medical centers high quality, cost-effective solutions to their blood-related needs.
