1960 Since its foundation in 1960, BRUKER has concentrated its research and production in the areas of magnetic resonance and laboratory magnets, while at the same time diversifying into other analytical fields.
1963 In 1963, BRUKER built the world's first commercial pulsed NMR spectrometer. Pulsed NMR, initially used by a few pioneers only, has since evolved into a major analytical technique.
An important milestone was the beginning of the collaboration with Spectrospin AG/Zürich which marked the entry into the field of high-resolution NMR.
1967 The production of the first truly multinuclear high-resolution NMR spectrometer in 1967 made the name BRUKER known worldwide. Two years later the introduction of Fourier Transform techniques revolutionionized NMR as an analytical method. Thanks to the foresight of BRUKER engineers, the potential of high-field NMR was recognized very early, but it wasn't until numerous technological barriers were overcome that this type of spectroscopy became generally accepted.
1968 EPR, phenomenologically related to NMR, was a logical extension of the BRUKER product line in 1968.
Today we offer a complete range of EPR and ENDOR spectrometers and accessories including the world's only commercial FT-EPR spectrometer which was introduced in 1989.
1974 In 1974, BRUKER also entered the field of FT-IR spectroscopy, adding a further dimension to its range of analytical instruments.
1983 In 1983, the product line of the BRUKER group was extended to include instrumentation for in-vivo NMR, and a wide range of systems is now offered for all applications of imaging/spectroscopy in biological research and clinical medicine.
1997 Finally, since 1997 a complete line of instruments for X-ray fluorescence spectrometry and diffraction studies of powders or single crystals extends BRUKER's coverage of the analytical field.
