BUHLMANN not only stands for outstanding and unique parameters. It also means 30 years of successful history as a medium sized, independent company near Basel.
BUHLMANN Laboratories AG has been founded in 1976 as a distribution company for immunodiagnostics. At that time, BUHLMANN was a “First Distributor” of a then still small company DPC (Diagnostics Products Corp., Los Angeles, USA) - today’s world leader in immunoassays. The excellent quality and some exclusive parameters of DPC led to a rapid and long lasting success in the Swiss and Austrian markets. In 1991, DPC and BUHLMANN successfully introduced Immulite, the first generation of automated immuno-analyzers. Today, with DPC, we are number four in the Swiss IVD market and number three in Austria.

Together with our partner DPC we offer the latest developments in terms of lab automation. With the recently launched Sample Management System (SMS) and new product lines, such as the first 3rd Generation Specific IgE test on the market, we enable labs to consolidate nearly 100 immunoassays and 380 allergens on one platform.

In 1979, BUHLMANN started developing and manufacturing innovative in vitro diagnostic kits by early identification of relevant new parameters. A variety of these niche products are still unique and remain unchallenged to date.
