Download PDF Members: Welcome to 2006! I would like to update you with our accomplishments of 2005 and share with you our plans and goals for 2006. In general, 2005 brought continued changes in the pharmaceutical market: more consolidation within Big Pharma, a further shift of manufacturing to the Chinese and Indian markets, and on the positive side, more pronounced growth of mid-sized pharmaceutical and Biotech companies. It appears that in the very near future most of the manufacturing and early stage synthesis of scaffolds will be sole domain of the off shore companies. On the other hand IP-sensitive, R&D-intensive, and generally time-critical projects will stay in the US where the scientifically-fittest companies have the best chance at succeeding.
