Pediatric Ear, Nose & Throat of Atlanta, P.C

Pediatric Ear, Nose & Throat of Atlanta, P.C. (PENTA) was founded by Benjamin White, M.D., in 1987 to address the ear, nose and throat needs of children in the Atlanta area. James Thomsen, M.D., joined Dr. White in 1991 and Verlia Gower, M.D. joined the practice in 1997. In 1999 Norman Novelly, D.O. joined PENTA followed by Wendell Todd, M.D. in 2000. Brian Herrmann, M.D. started with the practice in 2004. Each physician is not only board certified but also has either completed or directed a fellowship in pediatric otolaryngology. Dr. White completed his fellowship under Dr. Charles Bluestone at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Dr. Thomsen under Dr. Kenneth Grundfast at Children’s National Medical Center in WashingtonD.C., Dr. Gower under Dr. Walter Belenky at Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit, and Dr. Novelly under Dr. Robin Cotton at Children’s HospitalMedicalCenter in Cincinnati. Dr. Todd was the Director of the Fellowship Program in Pediatric Otolaryngology at EmoryUniversity. Dr. Herrmann completed his fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine in Saint Louis under the direction of Dr. Randall Clary. All of our physicians have been trained in and adhere to the same basic tenant of conservative and thorough care, putting children and their families first. Our practice philosophy, stated in this website, reflects our beliefs and actions.
