Doxa AB is a Swedish R&D company located at the university city of Uppsala. Doxa's business model is to develop, manufacture and commercialize innovative products based upon its unique technology platform of calcium aluminate hydrate and bioactive ceramics. The business opportunities are divided into the therapy areas orthopedics and odontology.High priority research areas within orthopedics are methods for treating fractures resulting from osteoporosis, reconstructive orthopedics and coating of implants (a method for applying bioactive ceramic material to an established implant, a method that exhibits increased biocompatibility and tissue in-growth). High priority research areas within odontology are tooth restoration, a dental cement and implant fixation.
Doxa's staff of 20 persons is chiefly occupied with R&D.
In Uppsala Doxa owns a production plant for manufacturing its products, including the synthesis of raw materials.
