Endius Incorporated, formerly Aust and Taylor Medical Corporation, was founded in 1992 by Dr. Gil Aust, an Orthopedic Surgeon and Timothy Taylor, an aerospace engineer formerly with NASA. The company's initial focus was on developing steerable instruments for Discectomy. In 1997, Tom Davison joined the company as CEO and moved its headquarters from Huntsville, Alabama to Boston, Massachusetts. In conjunction with the move, the company formally changed its name to Endius Incorporated and changed its focus to create devices that use proven technology to address the minimally invasive spine surgery market. Endius is the pioneer in minimally invasive spine surgery that enables surgeons to provide less traumatic and potentially more effective treatment for the more than one million patients who require surgery annually in the U.S. for chronic back pain.
