Our Morpholino oligos are the premier tools for gene knockdown in developmental biology labs and are the best gene-silencing reagents for cells in culture. Morpholino oligos are short chains of Morpholino subunits comprised of a nucleic acid base, a morpholine ring and a non-ionic phosphorodiamidate intersubunit linkage. Morpholinos act via a steric block mechanism (RNAse H-independent) and with their high mRNA binding affinity and exquisite specificity they yield reliable and predictable results. They either can block translation initiation in the cytosol (by targeting the 5' UTR through the first 25 bases of coding sequence) or they can modify pre-mRNA splicing in the nucleus (by targeting splice junctions). We continually develop novel delivery systems like our 'Endo-Porter' and our soon-to-be launched in vivo delivery system, making it easy to deliver Morpholinos into cultured cells and soon into animals -- making Morpholinos the best tools for genetic studies and drug target validation programs
