Cambridge Research and Innovation Limited

Cambridge Research and Innovation Limited (CRIL) is a locally based seed capital fund. The CRIL fund invests in new technology based business, including bio businesses, in the UK. CRIL invests from £50,000 to £500,000 at the start up of a company or during the early stages of company growth. In addition to funds CRIL invests significant amounts of its own management time and effort helping to nurture and shape its investments.

Over ten years CRIL has built up a portfolio of 16 technology investments, these have spun out of research and development work both in academia and industry. This experience has lead to a tried and tested investment philosophy. CRIL will invests in situations where :



* There are “real” applications for the technology, and the technology so applied produces products which are significantly better than competitive products

* The technology can be protected by patent

* The markets for the technology are global and large

* The individuals promoting the technology are dedicated and motivated

* There is a role for CRIL to play in influencing the value creation process
