UMR GAEL

The GAEL (Applied Economics Laboratory of Grenoble) Research Unit is an INRA and Pierre Mendès France University Laboratory. Its mission is to produce and disseminate scientific knowledge on innovation, the environment and industrial organizations. The laboratory employs about fifteen permanent researchers and lecturer-researchers and many PhD and post-doctoral students. Each of the laboratory's three main research domains corresponds to an area of speciality.
1 - Innovation and technical change analyses the economic conditions of the development of biotechnologies and their impact on the agricultural, food and health sectors.

2 - Environment concerns the management of rural areas and conservation of the environment, especially the quality of water.


3 - Economics of Organizations studies vertical relations between firms, and problems related to management of the supply chain in industry, down to the end user.
