Our vision of the future sees the mobile handset becoming the ubiquitous multimedia device with high resolution camcorder functionality, wireless up-streaming of DVD quality video to your PC or TV screen and the ability to purchase and enjoy content with an immediacy never before realised. Hantro develops the technology for enabling multimedia in resource limited environments such as battery operated mobile handsets. The technology (intellectual property) is sold on a license fee and royalty basis. In addition to IP, we also provide our customers with integration, customization and support services.
Founded in 1992, Hantro initially provided integrated circuit and system-on-chip design services to leading mobile handset manufacturers. Amongst the first to identify the potential for video applications in a mobile handset, in 1998 we dedicated our resources and experience to developing the technology to make mobile video possible. We are a unique organization because we provide both software and hardware technologies which enables us to deliver a more complete solution that is optimal for the target environment. Because our capabilities stretch from ASIC design right up to the user interface we are able to ensure maximum performance with minimal CPU load and power consumption.
