Hexal Australia was formed as a joint venture with Hexal AG, Germany in 1995 under the leadership of Clemens von Oswald. After an intensive preparation period prior to launching the company, two products were released onto the market in August 1997.Currently Hexal Australia has a product base of 45 active substances and 118 product lines. Hexal Australia plans to substantially expand the range further.
Hexal Australia is now recognised as a major force within the Australian generic medicines (lower cost brands) market segment.
