The Hong Kong Institute of Biotechnology Limited (HKIB) is a Company Limited by Guarantee and is wholly controlled by the Council of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. It is located on the waterfront of the Tolo Harbour on CUHK campus in Shatin, the New Territories.Founded in 1988 with an initial endowment from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, HKIB aims to be the leading force in promoting the development of a biotechnology-based industry within Hong Kong and the Asian region. Its mission is to advance applied academic research and to provide the vital link between technology transfer and product commercialization.
