High Throughput Genomics (HTG) was founded to: Develop and market ArrayPlate measurement of gene expression, DNA and proteins.
Develop and market gene expression quantitative Nuclease Protection Assays (qNPA™).
Satisfy unmet needs encountered at all levels of drug discovery, clinical development, and clinical practice.
Other commercialized methods for drug discovery lack sensitivity and have poor reproducibility. As a result low and moderately expressed genes that change slightly but significantly in disease states cannot be identified accurately against background assay noise.
HTG introduced the ArrayPlate, its first qNPA product, to measure multiple gene expression targets simultaneously. The ArrayPlate combines the high sample throughput of traditional microplates with HTG's novel Universal Array™ technology, permitting investigators to customize the genes measured in each well using a simple bench-top[ reagent addition procedure, producing self-customized arrays. With the combination of these two technologies, researchers now have access to the excellent sensitivity required to detect small changes and weak activity and the reproducibility of conventional biochemical assays in a multiplexed format permitting the measurement of sets of from 2 to 128 or more genes for high volume profiling of gene expression. In practical terms, this combination provides sensitivity down to 1,000 cells on 0.01 micrograms of total RNA and exceptional reproducibility of 3% to 13% coefficient of variation (C.V.) across the entire assay for cellular in vitro and in vivo tissue assays. The ability to easily measure gene expression from fixed tissue with the same high quality as from cells or frozen tissue is unique to qNPA
