Ixion Biotechnology, Inc

Ixion is a Florida-based, early stage biotechnology company that is developing therapies focused on somatic cellular therapies to treat diabetes, based on selecting, proliferating, and directing the differentiation of adult pancreatic stem cells into insulin-producing islet preparations for transplantation.Our development programs arose from discovery by our Chief Scientist and is classified as a biologic by the FDA. We hold a portfolio of U.S. and international patents (both issued and pending) and exclusive licenses relating to our activities.Ixion began operations in 1995. Recently, we sold our oxalate technology to our former majority shareholder in exchange for all its shares of Ixion stock. Currently our team occupies over 2,000 square feet of lab and office space near the University of Florida, Gainesville. Since 1999, we have received over $5 million in NIH research funds, and in 2000 we received the National Tibbetts award from the SBA in recognition of our research activities.
