Ludger was founded in 1999 by Dr. Daryl Fernandes. The company's research and manufacturing facilities are located in the Oxford BioBusiness Centre at Littlemore Park, Oxford, UK. Ludger specialises in technology for glycobiology and proteomics. The company conducts research and development in new glycotechnology and produces a range of glycobiology tools for the biotechnology and pharmaceuticals industries.
Current R&D programmes include (1) the development of advanced technology for high-throughput, high-sensitivity analysis of complex glycosylation in proteomics studies and (2) drug targetting.
Current products include kits and associated technology for the release of glycans from glycoconjugates, fluorophore and chromophore tagging of glycans and glycopeptides, chromatographic separations and analyses, glycan standards, and tools for mass spectral analysis of glycoconjugates.
Ludger has been awarded a DTI Smart award for new glycotechnology development and a DTI LINK grant for the development of technology for rapid fingerprinting of complex glycosylation.
