MatTek Corporation was founded in 1985 by two chemical engineering professors from MIT. In 1991 the company leveraged its core polymer surface modification technology into the emerging tissue engineering market.MatTek Corporation is a global industry leader in tissue engineering. The company produces normal (non-transformed), human cell-derived, three-dimensional organotypic in vitro tissue models for use in product development/efficacy, claims substantiation, safety assessment, and target organ research applications
