MedaSorb Technologies (“MedaSorb” or the “Company) has developed a new platform technology that efficiently removes toxic compounds from the bloodstream. Current state-of-the-art blood purification techniques are not designed for this purpose and are inefficient at removing these toxins. The Company’s products, which incorporate a proprietary adsorbent polymer technology, are known medically as hemoperfusion devices and have many potential healthcare applications, including: Treatment and/or prevention of sepsis
Prevention of post-operative complications of cardiac surgery
Prevention of damage to donor organs prior to organ transplant
Treatment of organ dysfunction resulting from trauma and severe burns
Treatment of acute kidney failure
Long-term treatment of chronic kidney failure, end stage renal disease (ESRD)
