Medeval was founded in 1983. Initially, Medeval facilities included a 6-bedded investigative unit and bioanalytical laboratory housed within the Pharmacy Department, University of Manchester. In its first year, Medeval undertook 7 small clinical studies with 4 full-time staff.
In 1989 Medeval moved to its current premises on the Manchester Science Park, adjacent to the main University of Manchester campus
