Metkinen’s strain improvement platform is proven and cost effective way to improve fermentation process. We have 10 years of experience in strain improvement and proven records of successful fermentation technology development and transfer. Our customer list is impressive and includes more then 20 major API producers all over the world.
Metkinen is experienced in strain development "from zero". In most cases natural strains (isolates) are obtained from reliable microorganism collection as ATCC or DSM. These strains have very basic natural productivity. As it was in case of Lovastatin strain of Aspergillus terreus research started at 10 mg per litre productivity. At present Metkinen Oy Laboratory possesses competitive microorganisms for Lovastatin, Compactin or Pravastatin
Currently we are developing such new new products as Tacrolimus, Coenzyme Q10 and Acarbose
We have good experience in R&D in steroid bioconversion field. Metkinen offer strain improvement and technology development in steroids field
