Midwest Heart Specialists (MHS) is a nationally recognized group of 55 cardiovascular physicians including 41 board certified cardiologists, 7 electrophysiologists, 4 interventional radiologists, 3 heart failure specialists, and 1 vascular medicine specialist, making us one of the largest cardiovascular practices in Illinois. In addition to being board-certified in cardiovascular disease, many MHS physicians are also certified in critical care medicine, internal medicine and emergency medicine. Midwest Heart Specialists provides easy access for patients at its multiple locations throughout the western suburbs of Chicago and surrounding areas. During more than a quarter-century of caring for tens of thousands of patients, we have pioneered dozens of cardiology "firsts" - technologies and treatments we were first to develop, first to use, or first to adapt to patient care. But our reputation for practicing medicine with equal parts of compassion and excellence may be our finest achievement.
We offer all of the latest leading-edge cardiovascular tests and therapies, most right in our offices. When new ones come along that meet our criteria of effectiveness and safety, we make sure our patients have access to them too.
To give you an idea of the diversity of services we make available, here is a thumbnail sketch of our high-tech resources: advanced pharmacological-nuclear tests, echocardiography, carotid ultrasound, CT ultra fast scan, cardiac catheterization (angiogram, angioplasty and atherectomy radio-frequency), and peripheral vascular laboratory to diagnose and treat blood vessel blockages in the limbs.
