Download detailed PDF Members: O.BERK Company serves the many packaging needs of diverse manufacturers, and has become one of the premier sources of plastic, metal, glass jars supplies and containers including caps and closures. Together with its affiliates, we now serve more than 5,000 customers, in all major industries – food, pharmaceutical and healthcare, cosmetic/personal care, chemical and industrial. The company was founded in Newark by Osias Berk as a small regional company in 1910. It has been operating continuously for almost 100 years, and has become a national distributorship that now serves as a total packaging resource for a wide range of customers. The company's headquarters was moved from Newark to Irvington in 1965, to Linden in 1973, and to its present headquarters site in Union in 1984. It grew steadily over the years through major acquisitions. These included the J. W. Wilson Glass Company in 1973, the United Bottle Company in 1976, KOLS Containers (now an affiliate) in 1983, J. Rabinowitz & Sons, Inc. (now the Cosmetic Packaging Group) in 1994, Feldman Glass Company (now O.BERK of New England) in 1998, Great Age Containers, Inc in 2001 and Greenfield Packaging Industries, Inc. in 2002. A full service branch was opened in Farmingdale, NY in 1977, moved to Port Washington in 1986, and then to Mineola in 2003
