Under the leadership of its three founding scientists Michael Chang, Ph.D. (Optimer Pharmaceutical's President and CEO), Professor Chi-Huey Wong of Scripps Research Institute and Professor Samuel Danishefsky of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, the company has already assembled one of the best research and development teams in the field of carbohydrate technology.
The Company headquarters and R&D laboratory are located in San Diego, California, less than ten minutes away from The Scripps Research Institute. Optimer also has two wholly owned subsidiary, Optimer Singapore Pte Ltd., located in Singapore, and Optimer Taiwan, located in Taipei, Taiwan
