Philweb Corp. will launch three text-based gaming projects this year to take advantage of a partnership with ePLDT, a wholly-owned unit of the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co.ilweb Chairman and former trade minister Roberto Ongpin said during the company's annual stockholders' meeting that the company would launch today it's first text-based product, called " Premyo sa Resibo. "
The program, which will be implemented with Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp., Dept of Finance and Bureau of Internal Revenue, aims to help the national government go after establishments that are not paying correct taxes.Under the plan, the project will provide incentives to consumers who will demand receipts and report transactions via text messaging to a number that the company will provide. Participants have a chance to win raffle prizes of up to P100 million a week. "We expect this Premyo sa Resibo to be one of the largest revenue earners for the company, "Ongpin said. Philweb has initially tapped PLDT's mobile phone subsidiary, Smart Communications, for the program. It also plans to team up with Globe Telecoms and Sun Cellular.
