Phytowelt GreenTechnologies - serving the plant biotech sector Phytowelt GreenTechnologies is a worldwide operating company with its core business in agricultural science and plant biotechnology. Our mission is to assist our clients’ research by providing our know-how in improving their plants. Even without the production of genetically modified organisms, we can modify e.g. the amount, the quality or the composition of different compounds in a plant for sustained production of renewable raw materials or alter other features like the morphology or the colour of flowers.
Another core competency is the transfer of knowledge. We provide technology studies and scientific consultancy; assist our clients in finding appropriate partners for their projects and offer, as an external partner, services in project coordination as well as in the organisation of congresses and exhibitions in the range of plant biotechnology. In January 2006 Phytowelt GreenTechnologies was founded as a merger of Phytowelt GmbH, and GreenTec GmbH. The latter originated as a spin-off company from the Max-Planck Institute of plant breeding research in Cologne, Germany. CEO is Dr. Peter Welters. The head office is based in Nettetal, Germany, whereas the R&D facilities are located in the premises of the Max Planck Institute for plant breeding research in Cologne. The shareholders of GreenTec are the directors and leading scientists of the institute.
