Pierrel has worked in the pharmaceutical market since 1948 and it's well-known to the wide audience for some successfully products as the PIERREL toothpaste. P Farmaceutici incorporates Pierrel from the multinational Kabi-Pharmacia in 1997 and begins an extensive plan for the reorganisation and strategic development of the activities with a focus on two specific business areas, namely Contract Manufacturing and Contract ResearchIn order to develop and strengthen the Contract Manufacturing business, already a core business of P Farmaceutici, on 30 June 2005 the latter creates Pierrel S.r.l (then become Pierrel S.p.A.) carving out the division responsible for manufacturing proprietary medicinal products (including, in particular, the "Pierrel" historical name and the plant situated in Capua in which these production activities are carried out).On 13 July 2005, Pierrel acquires 51% of the share capital of Pharmapart AG, a Swiss Company operating in research and development of medical products in outsourcing, and creates an integrated Group specialized in research services, development and production of drugs.In December 2005, Pierrel enters into a joint venture agreement with two partners with a strong expertise in the production and marketing of dental products and creates Pierrel Dental, subscribing a 52% of the share capital.
