PHARMA INDUSTRY FINLAND

Pharma Industry Finland (PIF) is an association supervising the industrial policy interests of the research-based pharmaceutical industry. Through communication PIF creates a comprehensive public image of the pharmaceutical industry. PIF's aim is to develop the competitiveness as well as the research and operation environment of the industry both in Finland and the EU so that the best possible pharmaceutical treatment reaches patients without delays. This is done by influencing economic, industry and socio-policy legislation.PIF represents almost all the pharmaceutical companies researching, manufacturing and marketing medicinal products in Finland. The members represent the research-based, generic, OTC and veterinary pharmaceutical industry. Altogether PIF has 63 members.
The association helps its members and the media in all questions relating to the pharmaceutical industry. PIF takes initiatives, gives comments to the authorities on behalf of its members, carries out surveys on current topics and produces pharmaceutical statistics. PIF also organises information meetings and education for its members, and offers the general public and interest groups information about the industry.
PIF, Pharmaceutical Information Centre, The Supervisory Commission for the Marketing of Medicinal Products and The Finnish Cooperative for the Indemnification of Medicines-Related Injuries make up the pharmaceutical corporation.
