LAB Research (LAB) commenced operation in 1998 with 9 people who shared a vision of high expertise, low cost and an unparalleled client focus. The company has now grown to approximately 230 people (at end 2003) with laboratory operations in three countries (Montreal, Canada; Veszprem, Hungary and San Diego, USA) and representative offices in 5 countries.
Montreal facilities comprise the new, purpose-built, corporate headquarters building, which opened at the end of September 2002 and is located in the High Technology Park in Laval, Quebec, Canada. This new, LAB-owned, building is 42,000 sq.ft. and has both rodent and non-rodent animal rooms, clinical pathology, pathology laboratories and generous office space. In addition LAB has a vivarium annex at the Institute Armand-Frappier campus which was built in 1995 and of which LAB occupies approximately 40% of the 76,000 sq.ft. state-of-the-art building.
