RaySearch’s business concept is to provide innovative software that creates more effective radiation therapy of cancer. The operations are predicated on the aim of improving people’s health and lives by shortening the time required for new scientific achievements in radiation therapy to be implemented in clinical use. The overall aim is to make RaySearch the leading supplier of advanced software in radiation therapy.
Where do we come from?
RaySearch was spun off by Karolinska Institutet and founded by Johan Löf, Erik Hedlund, Carl Filip Bergendal, Anders Brahme, Bengt Lind, Anders Liander and Karolinska Institutet Holding AB. A business plan competition confirmed the market potential, which led to the founding of the company in 2000. The first license agreement was signed in summer 2000 with ADAC Laboratories, which was later acquired by Philips. The Affärsstrategerna venture capital company became a part-owner is RaySearch in 2000. Five years after its founding, RaySearch has launched four commercial products and there are more on the way.
