Recupel asbl

The manufacturers and importers of electrical and electronic equipment founded the not-for-profit organisation Recupel with the support of the Belgian regional governments. Its remit comprises the organisation of the collection, sorting, treatment and recycling of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) in Belgium. The system came into force on 1 July 2001.
