RNA-TEC NV is a spin-off company, set up in 2000 by K.U.Leuven Research and Development. Shareholders are the Rega Institute, Prof. Dr. Piet Herdewijn, Dr. Brian Sproat, Gemma Frisius Fund. KULeuven Research & Development.
The founder, Prof. Dr. Piet Herdewijn, is an internationally renowned scientist with more than 20 years of expertise in nucleoside and nucleotide chemistry and is the author/co-author of more than 400 scientific publications and some 25 book chapters.
Dr. Brian Sproat is the chief scientific officer and he has more than 25 years of expertise in the field of nucleotide and oligonucleotide analogues. He has authored/co-authored more then 80 publications in refereed journals and 10 book chapters and is inventor/co-inventor of several patents in the field oligonucleotides.
Rega Institute is internationally known for its developments in medical research. RNA-TEC has access to state of art technology developed in this institute.
