Dr.ROBERT SCALES
Download detailed PDF Members: Dr. Robert Scales is a native of Scotland, but now resides in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He has a Masters degree in Exercise Science and a Ph.D. in Health Education. He is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in both disciplines at the University of New Mexico. He is also the newly appointed Coordinator for Cardiac Rehabilitation at Lovelace Health Systems in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was the Principal Investigator in the Cardiovascular Health Initiative and Lifestyle Education Study, otherwise known as the CHILE Study, the first study to investigate the impact of motivational interviewing and skills-based counseling on the behaviors of patients attending cardiac rehabilitation. Dr. Scales has presented his research in Australia, Ireland, the Unites States, Canada and Brazil. He has received outstanding achievement awards for his research from the University of New Mexico, the Society of Nutrition Education and the Western States Association of Communication
