Confirmant Limited

Formed in June 2001, Confirmant is a joint venture between OGS and Marconi. It was conceived to develop, commercialise and market the output from OGS high throughput proteomics process.

The first product resulting from this, the Protein Atlas, is due for commercial release Q3/4 2002. The Protein Atlas is a database of experimentally derived gene sequences mapped onto the human genome from the proteins they express.



The Atlas also allows the identification of splice variants and can show the expression of exons in specific tissues, cell lines and intra cellular locations.



Potential applications include confirmation of genes of interest in target discovery, DNA and protein microarray design and optimisation as well as the potential to discover new classes of genes/protein families.
