Aksys Limited

Aksys was founded in 1991 to provide hemodialysis products and services for patients suffering from end-stage renal disease ("ESRD"), commonly known as chronic kidney failure. The Company has developed an automated personal hemodialysis system, known as the Aksys PHD Personal Hemodialysis System (the "PHD System"), which is designed to enable patients to perform daily hemodialysis at alternate sites, such as the patient's home, and to thereby improve clinical outcomes, reduce total ESRD treatment costs and enhance the patients' quality of life. All these characteristics have beenassociated with daily hemodialysis.
