SAKK

SAKK conducts clinical trials for adult patients on a national level. The group also contributes to many international studies conducted by other research groups. The SAKK participates in all trials of the International Breast Cancer Study Group (IBCSG), a group with strong roots in Switzerland which has its Coordinating Center in Bern.
The nucleus of the SAKK was initiated in 1965 by the cooperation of divisions of hematology and oncology at the University Hospitals of Zurich, Geneva and Bern. Other newly formed tumor centers – so called SAKK regions - joined the organization over the years. Today SAKK activities cover the whole national territory.
