Consortium for Plasma Science LLC

The Consortium for Plasma Science, LLC, was formed in January 1997 to support the development of a universal approach to eradicate pathogens in whole blood plasma. The Consortium is cofunded by Alpha Therapeutic Corporation, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Pharma Corporation; Aventis Behring; Baxter Healthcare Corporation; and Bayer Corporation.The Member companies have agreed on a focused strategy to leverage the resources of the fractionation industry - beyond the current efforts of the individual organizations - to accelerate the development of emerging technology in the area of blood plasma safety.





Our Mission

The mission of the Consortium is to enhance the safety of human blood source plasma and plasma derivatives by facilitating research into a universal method to eradicate pathogens, preferentially focusing on initial sterilization techniques.
