Founded in 1924, Scripps Clinic is one of the oldest private medical centers in the United States. With its main facility in La Jolla, California, Scripps Clinic provides care at its 13 locations throughout San Diego County.Scripps Metabolic Clinic opened its doors on December 11, 1924. It was housed in a small, single-story building in La Jolla and staffed by seven professionals.In the ensuing decades, the vision of its leaders and the missions to which they were dedicated have guided the patterns of growth and change that gave direction to today's Scripps Clinic.
