TissueGene

Starting in 1997, the founders of TissueGene sought to uncover different surgical and gene-based therapeutics for a variety of arthritic conditions. The diligence soon paid off in the form of the first successful animal model for cartilage repair. Subsequently, in the middle of 1999, TissueGene, Inc was incorporated in the United States. TissueGene's initial findings resulted in the focused development of a proprietary cell mediated genetic technology capable of treating and regenerating damaged tendons, ligaments, cartilage and bones. The company began using a form of cell mediated gene therapy to deliver a regenerative protein to damaged tissue, which catalyzes rapid and permanent repair of the injured site without the need for surgery
