Transave Inc.Transave is a biotechnology company focused on the site specific treatment of lung disease. The company’s goal is to achieve the leadership role in the treatment of lung diseases via the use of its proprietary Sustained release Lipid Inhalation Targeting (SLIT™) technology. The Company’s low risk business model is focused predominantly on developing inhaleable sustained release formulations of already approved drugs, for both its own commercialization and for partners. Transave’s SLIT™ technology offers four unique advantages in the treatment of lung disease over other existing inhalation therapies: 1. the ability to attain a prolonged therapeutic effect of a drug in the lung by sustained release via inhalation therapy; 2. the ability to target and enhance the uptake of the drug into the diseased cells; 3. the reduction of side effects associated with systemic delivery; and 4. the potential to reduce drug resistance through a sustained therapeutic dose. The end result is a less frequently administered drug with an enhanced therapeutic index. Transave's SLIT™ technology is amenable to delivery of both low and high molecular weight compounds (e.g., peptides, proteins and genes). It can be used to improve current injectable or inhalation products (e.g., traditional already approved pharmaceuticals) as well as to develop new improved lung disease products (e.g., proteins and genes).
